Early Reading & Phonics

At Greenways we follow Little Wandle Letters & Sounds Revised. We take a ‘Phonics First, Phonics Fast’ approach as we believe that letter and word recognition is essential in supporting children with early reading and enables them to access the wider curriculum.

The resources on the link below will help you support your child with saying their sounds and writing their letters. There are also some useful videos so you can see how they are taught at Greenways and feel confident about supporting their reading at home.

Parent workshops will be held for parents at the start of the academic year so that you are aware of our approach and are supported when you support your child at home. Our staff are always available to support parents with phonics, so please ask for advice and support where needed.
