We are delighted to announce that Greenways Primary Academy has achieved the School Games GOLD Mark Award for the 2024/25 academic year!
The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust, which celebrates schools for their commitment to competitive sport and physical activity. We are proud to be recognised for our inclusive and ambitious approach to school sport.
At Greenways, all pupils take part in at least two hours of PE each week, with additional opportunities for clubs, events, and competitions. This year, pupils have proudly represented Greenways at the WAT Primary Games, Northwood Athletics, the Swimming Gala, and a variety of Burslem Town sporting events, including cross-country and athletics.
Our curriculum is designed to develop physical skills, teamwork, and confidence, supporting physical health, mental wellbeing, and resilience. We also promote pupil leadership through our Sports Leaders programme, empowering children to help lead and shape physical activity in school.
We are committed to providing inclusive and high-quality PE for all pupils, including those with SEND, and to ensuring that every child enjoys the benefits of physical activity both in school and in the wider community.
Our Gold Award reflects the passion, effort, and commitment of our staff, pupils, and wider school community. Here's to another fantastic year of sport at Greenways!
