At Greenways, we highly value the performing arts which includes music. We believe that all children can express themselves through music and a high quality music curriculum with specialist teaching can promote academic and personal potential.
To ensure all of our pupils receive the best music provision, we have specialist music teachers who teach from Nursery to Year 6. We follow the EYFS Framework and National Curriculum to ensure we are preparing all children for the next stages in learning.
We promote exceptionality by going beyond the National Curriculum where we believe pupils have talents and promote those through wider opportunities in school.
As a school we have two choirs, a Rock Band, private guitar lessons and all children learn to play music instruments and perform before leaving primary school.
Throughout a child's journey at Greenways, they will have the opportunity to take part in the following (to name a few):
-EYFS Nativity
-KS1 Nativity
-KS2 Carol Concert
-Y4 Harvest Assembly
-Y3 Easter Assembly
-KS2 End of Year Performance
-Singings Stars Concerts
- Sound Foundations Music Concerts
-'Rock Off' events
As part of our WAT Pledge, children will also get to see a live performance including music.
